The gift of prayer

The gift of prayer

First of all prayer is a gift, it’s not a obligation. Prayer is fellowship with God. Nothing is better than knowing God personally through prayer. In Ephesians 6: 18 it says that praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching their unto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints: King James version.

Jesus himself went off to be alone to pray to the Father. In Luke 6:12 it says and it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Also in Philippians 4:6 it says be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

I am in constant contact with God through prayer. I try to pray without ceasing. My whole day goes by with our Lord on my mind and in my heart. When I’m in a store and someone passes me by I will smile at them and whisper a little prayer for them. God gave us prayer to stay in constant contact with him. Jesus himself prayed three times in the garden of Gethsemane see Matthew 26:36 through 44. God loves to hear our voice, He wants us to ask, and keep asking for the things on our hearts. We can pray no matter where we are, let’s go forward and keep praying.
